We run the Dementia Aware Denbighshire project to support local communities across the county to work together to ensure people living with dementia and their carers have access to the services and personal support that they need.
- Dementia Aware Denbighshire Community Led Network – The aim of this Network is to proactively lead on and facilitate initiatives to improve the awareness of Dementia in Denbighshire. Bi-monthly online sessions with interesting speakers and updates from local dementia friendly action groups and communities. Everyone is welcome to get involved.
- We provide FREE Dementia Friends Information sessions, hosted by Rebecca Bowcott. You will learn more about dementia, how it can affect someone and what you can do to help and make a difference. Sessions take place online or face to face.
- Dementia Friendly Communities and Local Dementia Action Groups – we offer support for local communities to establish a local group to promote and raise awareness for people living with Dementia, their carers and families and gain recognition under the new North Wales Dementia Friendly Communities scheme.
- Dementia Aware Denbighshire Community Grant – specific funding for local groups and individuals to provide opportunities and events in their local communities which raise awareness of dementia.
- Dementia Training – a variety of free training takes place throughout the year.
- Resources available for people living with Dementia such as clocks, whiteboards, digital assistants and books.
