DVSC is the leadership body in Denbighshire for promoting and supporting volunteering and inspiring voluntary action.
We:
· Celebrate and promote volunteering – We host an annual Volunteer Awards to celebrate volunteers in our community
· Develop good practice on managing volunteering, through training, advice and networking to share good practice. Follow the link to this checklist, which is designed to help you review the support and management your organisation offers to volunteers.
· Provide 1 to 1 support and develop volunteering opportunities and match them to volunteers through either face-to-face meetings or online correspondence.
· Promote the services of the WCVA online volunteer portal ‘Volunteering Wales’: https://denbighshire.volunteering-wales.net
· We highlight the activities of Third Sector organisations by promoting them in our digital ‘Spotlight Campaign’
We host Volunteer Fairs across the County 3 times a year
These are open walk-in events for individuals looking for more information about Volunteering and the opportunities available to them.
Denbighshire Volunteer Involving Organisations Network
The aim of this Network is to proactively lead on and facilitate initiatives to improve the involvement of volunteers in Denbighshire.
We also welcome guest speakers from Third Sector organisations to discuss their upcoming initiatives or new schemes, providing attendees with the most up to date information.
The Network is open to all Third Sector organisations operating in Denbighshire.
Volunteers Week
This is a weeklong celebration during the first week of June to recognise the hard work of volunteers across Denbighshire.
