Grants up to £10,000 will be available for the following (Grants of over £10,000 will be considered dependent on the project):
- Locally constituted organisations (including registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community groups, town or community councils, community interest companies, social enterprises, churches and uniformed groups).
- Small food related business operating in Denbighshire (with less than 50 employees)
- Non-Constituted Groups can apply for up to £1,000 only.
Applications that show collaborative working will be looked upon favourably.
This fund is for CAPITAL funding only.
For capital funding for equipment that requires installation you will need to provide ownership or lease for the building that covers at least the next 3 years.
Grant eligibility
The grant is for food related business to help communities access affordable food options.
Projects or initiatives that deliver and/or meet the aims of Cogog, are eligible. These would include projects that:
- Improving food security and sustainability
- Minimise food waste
- Promote healthier food options
- Provide access to affordable and nutritious food
- Educate and promote awareness of good food
- Grow your own fruit and veg, etc
Capital Funding can include (this list is not exhaustive):
Purchase equipment to support initiatives which help tackle the root cause of food poverty such as, but not limited to:
- The development of local food growing and distribution initiatives.
- Development of food pantries.
- Educational projects that support the development of food knowledge and skills.
- Survey for structural works that are directly attributable to a capital project
The Cogog Grants Scheme funds must be spent by the 31/03/2027
