Small Age Friendly Communities Grant available via DVSC

DVSC is pleased to be working in partnership with Denbighshire Council and Welsh Government to make available this grant scheme:

Age Friendly Communities Grant 2022/23

The purpose is to fund activities to take forward work across Denbighshire towards making Wales an age friendly nation, with the intention for outcomes to help local authorities to work towards membership of the WHO’s Global Network of Age Friendly Cities and Communities.

Part of this funding is awarded from the Welsh Government’s Covid 19 Recovery Fund to support older people to re-engage with their communities. Participation is an integral part of creating an age friendly Wales, therefore eligible activity could include:

· Support for older people to re-engage with their communities post Covid 19. This could be achieved via financial support for 50+ forums or older people’s groups to run outreach events or engagement activity (transport; flyers or other promotional activity; hire of meeting rooms etc.)

· Direct engagement with older people and other stakeholders who have a role to play in creating an age friendly Wales, to articulate their needs

· Focus groups with older people with a protected characteristic or who do not wish to engage with formal groups or structures
