National Volunteers’ Week 2011
On 8th June, DVSC’s Volunteer Centre held its annual celebration to mark the 27th Anniversary of National Volunteers’ Week. Volunteer Centre staff organised a tour of the RNLI Lifeboat Station, attended by over 70 volunteers and co-ordinators, representing 30 different organisations across Denbighshire. Following the tour, guests enjoyed a buffet lunch at the Rhyl Pavilion. Cllr Bill Cowie, Chairman of Denbighshire County Council, also attended and presented 48 ‘Thank You’ certificates to volunteers, to recognise the commitment they give to volunteering within their communities.
This booklet was produced by DVSC’s Volunteer Centre, and provides information on each of the organisations represented at the event.
Gaynor Jones, Volunteer Centre Organiser, said “This event was organised by DVSC’s Volunteer Centre as a way of showing our appreciation and to say “Thank you” to all volunteers for their valued contribution and commitment given to the many voluntary / community groups throughout Denbighshire”.
